We recently hit the road in our RV for a fantastic family adventure to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, with a special twist – the Pigeon Forge Rod Run! Here's a glimpse into our unforgettable trip:
Home on Wheels at Pigeon Forge Landing
Our home base for the week was the lovely Pigeon Forge Landing RV Resort. It offered spacious campsites, great amenities, and a convenient location close to all the action.
A Culinary Journey
Pigeon Forge is a haven for foodies, and we weren't disappointed! Some of the delicious meals we enjoyed were at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen, Applewood Farmhouse Grill, The Abbey, Howards in Gatlinburg (the first restaurant in Gatlinburg, and the steak was fixed to perfection!), Iron Forge Brewing Co. (great burgers and wings!), and Puckett's Restaurant (the best smokes wings of the trip!).
Entertainment for All Ages
The trip wasn't just about food. We had a blast at the Murder Mystery Dinner Show, a hilarious and interactive whodunnit experience. The Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show was another highlight, transporting us back in time with a lively performance and delicious Southern fare.
Car Crazy Fun at the Rod Run
Of course, the main event was the Pigeon Forge Rod Run! We spent hours browsing through the rows of gleaming classic cars at the LeConte Center and cruising the strip. The vendors offered everything from car parts and accessories to unique souvenirs.
Exploring the Great Smoky Mountains
No trip to Pigeon Forge would be complete without venturing into the breathtaking Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We also drove to Cherokee, North Carolina, where we had great mountain views and stopped to see Elk relaxing in the water. In Townsend, we shopped at the Cades Cove Jeep Outpost, a must-visit for any Jeep lover. Cades Cove's highlight was seeing multiple bears and a mom with her two cubs!
Memories Made to Last
Our RV trip to Pigeon Forge was a perfect blend of car culture, family fun, and exploring the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains. We created lasting memories, enjoyed delicious food, and left with hearts full of joy.
